SpiceJet's Allotment Committee, at a meeting on November 18, 2025, approved the allotment of 83,34,091 equity shares to GASL Aviation Holdings Limited, an aircraft lessor, on a preferential basis under the non-promoter category. The shares have a face value of Rs. 10 each and were issued at Rs. 42.32 per share, including a security premium of Rs. 32.32. This allotment was made in exchange for converting USD 4,000,000 (approximately Rs. 35 crore) of the company's existing outstanding dues owed to the lessor. The new shares represent about 0.55% of the company's equity, resulting in a small dilution for existing shareholders.
This is a positive step for SpiceJet as it converts a portion of its liabilities into equity, easing short-term debt pressure and strengthening its balance sheet. Existing shareholders will see a minor dilution of around 0.55%, which is relatively insignificant.
