Star Housing Finance Ltd reported Q2 FY26 total income of INR 2,514.93 lakhs, up from INR 2,181.26 lakhs in Q1 FY26. Quarterly PAT improved to INR 178.99 lakhs (from INR 138.42 lakhs in Q1 FY26), translating to an EPS of INR 0.227. For H1 FY26, total income grew about 5% YoY to INR 4,595.19 lakhs, with interest income rising 19.2% to INR 4,593.15 lakhs on healthy loan book growth. However, H1 PAT fell sharply to around INR 317.41 lakhs versus INR 508.15 lakhs a year ago, mainly due to a loss of INR 176.35 lakhs on derecognition of financial assets compared to a gain of INR 38.05 lakhs earlier. Asset quality remains healthy with GNPA at 1.55% and NNPA at 1.16%, and the debt-equity ratio stands at 2.67. The auditor (Nyati Mundra & Co) issued an unmodified limited review opinion.
The quarter-on-quarter recovery in profits is positive for sentiment, but the steep YoY drop in half-yearly PAT and continued negative operating cash flows (as loans are being aggressively disbursed) are watch points. Stable asset quality and a 19% growth in interest income signal continued business momentum.
