On the reaction day the stock moved 1.1 pts more than Nifty Midcap 150 and 0.3 pts less than its Iron & Steel peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Q2 FY27 sales rose 24% year on year to 5.2 million tonnes, lifting turnover to INR 31,766 crore, EBITDA to INR 4,561 crore and PAT to INR 1,774 crore. H1 PAT jumped 207% to INR 3,410 crore, while borrowings fell INR 1,080 crore to INR 20,583 crore. Management lowered FY27 sales guidance to 21 million tonnes, forecast Q3 coking coal cost near INR 23,900 per tonne, and plans INR 15,000 crore capex this year toward 35 million tonne capacity.
Stronger H1 profit and lower debt support the stock, but coal costs and heavy expansion spending may cap margins and raise leverage.
