Sudarshan Chemical reported its FY25 audited results. Standalone revenue rose 18.3% to ₹2,533.9 crore, while consolidated revenue jumped 31.8% to ₹3,345.6 crore after the Heubach Group pigment business acquisition (€151.9 million) was completed on 3 March 2025 via subsidiary Sudarshan Europe B.V. Standalone profit before exceptional items and tax grew 67% to ₹212.3 crore, though reported standalone PAT fell to ₹141 crore from ₹335 crore (FY24 included a one-time ₹315 crore gain from Pune land sale). The board recommended a final dividend of ₹4.50 per share (225% on face value ₹2), subject to shareholder approval. The company raised ~₹995 crore via QIP and preferential allotment to part-fund the Heubach deal, alongside ₹158.9 crore in fresh long-term borrowings at the subsidiary level.
The Heubach acquisition has transformed Sudarshan into a much larger global pigment player, but it has also led to a sharp rise in consolidated borrowings (to ~₹2,084 crore) and a modified audit opinion on consolidated results, which warrants investor attention. Equity dilution from the QIP and warrants may weigh on short-term per-share metrics, though revenue scale and pre-exceptional profitability have improved meaningfully. Shareholders get a healthy 225% dividend as a reward.
