Sumeet Industries, a textile company, reported its Q3 FY26 (Oct-Dec 2025) unaudited results. Revenue from operations rose to Rs. 266.92 crore in Q3 from Rs. 251.76 crore a year ago (up ~6%), and 9-month revenue grew to Rs. 784.70 crore from Rs. 760.35 crore (up ~3.2%). Standalone net profit fell sharply to Rs. 9.04 crore in Q3 from Rs. 97.18 crore last year, mainly because Q3 FY25 had a large one-time exceptional gain of Rs. 96.63 crore from sale of fixed assets. On an operating basis (before exceptional items), the company turned from a Rs. 9.81 crore loss in 9M FY25 to a Rs. 25.26 crore profit in 9M FY26, showing real improvement in core operations. Finance costs more than tripled to Rs. 6.58 crore from Rs. 1.96 crore, and the company executed a 1:5 stock split (face value Rs. 10 to Rs. 2) during the quarter. A proposed rights issue was deferred to a later board meeting.
The headline profit drop looks alarming but is mostly explained by last year's one-time asset sale; underlying operations have clearly improved. However, rising finance costs and the deferred rights issue are points shareholders should watch, as the company may need fresh capital eventually.
