Suraj Limited reported its Q1 FY26 results on July 24, 2025, with the statutory auditor issuing an unqualified limited review report. Standalone revenue from operations came in at ₹5,034.33 lakhs, down about 8% from ₹5,474.14 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Standalone PAT fell sharply to ₹154.84 lakhs (₹0.84 EPS) versus ₹420.76 lakhs (₹2.29 EPS) a year ago. On a consolidated basis, including a ₹119.54 lakh share of profit from associate Suraj Enterprise Pvt Ltd, PAT was ₹274.38 lakhs (₹1.49 EPS) versus ₹569.99 lakhs (₹3.10 EPS) last year. EBITDA margins compressed noticeably, with the company earning ₹621.70 lakhs pre-depreciation/finance versus ₹951.04 lakhs in the year-ago quarter. The board also noted that small fines from NSE and BSE for procedural lapses (missing cash flow scan, missing PDF of secretarial compliance report) had been paid and attributed to human error.
Sharp year-on-year drop in both profits and margins despite only a modest revenue decline signals cost or pricing pressure in the steel pipes/tubes business. Shareholders may view this quarter as a weak start to FY26, though cash position and full-year outlook remain the key things to watch. Minor compliance penalties are immaterial financially but point to weak filing controls.
