The Board of Surat Trade and Mercantile Ltd approved audited financial results for Q4 and the full year ended 31st March 2025. Revenue from operations for FY25 rose to Rs. 6,863.70 lakhs from Rs. 6,056.37 lakhs in FY24, about 13% growth. Net profit for the full year grew to Rs. 1,166.01 lakhs, up nearly 29% from Rs. 907.36 lakhs in FY24. However, Q4 FY25 turned in a loss of Rs. 399.55 lakhs versus a profit of Rs. 191.28 lakhs in Q4 FY24. The statutory auditor, Sharp & Tannan Associates, issued an unmodified (clean) opinion. The Board also re-appointed Mr. Alok P. Shah as Managing Director for 5 years from 1st July 2025 and made new auditor appointments for secretarial and internal audit roles.
Positive for shareholders on full-year earnings growth and continuity of leadership with the MD re-appointment, but the sharp swing into a Q4 loss and consistently negative operating cash flows could weigh on near-term sentiment. Overall, the clean audit opinion and stable management provide comfort.
