Synergy Green Industries declared 10% dividend (Rs.10 per share) on preference shares for FY 2025-26, maintaining last year's level. However, the Board has NOT recommended any dividend for equity shareholders this year, compared to Re.1 per share paid last year. Full year profit after tax stood at Rs.1,688.82 lakhs, same as previous year, with EPS of Rs.11.14. Q4 standalone profit before tax was only Rs.31.20 lakhs, significantly lower than the year-earlier Rs.766.64 lakhs due to higher input costs and finance expenses. The company has also set up an ESOP scheme with 22,980 options at Rs.70 per share.
The elimination of equity dividend signals financial caution and could be perceived negatively by equity shareholders. The preference dividend obligation remains unchanged at Rs.10 per share, which is a fixed commitment. Investors should note the sharp Q4 profitability decline and increased debt levels (long-term borrowings up from Rs.5,535 lakhs to Rs.14,800 lakhs).
