Tata Consumer Products reported Q1 FY26 consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 4,779 Crores, up 10% year-on-year, driven by double-digit growth in the India business (tea and salt core categories) and 5% constant-currency growth internationally. India Beverages revenue grew 12% (coffee surged 67%) and India Foods grew 14%, with value-added salt up 31% and Tata Sampann up 27%. However, consolidated EBITDA fell 8% to Rs 615 Crores due to higher tea costs in India and coffee price corrections in the non-branded business. Group net profit rose 15% to Rs 332 Crores. RTD volumes were soft at 3% growth owing to unseasonal rains, and growth in Capital Foods and Organic India was described as transitory.
The 10% topline growth and 15% net profit rise signal healthy demand and operating leverage, but the 8% EBITDA decline highlights margin pressure from input costs, which may temper near-term investor enthusiasm. Investors should watch whether the company can pass on tea and coffee cost inflation and revive growth in Capital Foods, Organic India, and RTD in coming quarters.
