On the reaction day the stock moved 0.2 pts less than Nifty 100 and in line with its Iron & Steel peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Tata Steel reports the Orissa High Court has extended interim protection in two writ petitions challenging demand letters from the Office of Deputy Director of Mines, Jajpur, over alleged shortfall in mineral dispatch from the Sukinda Chromite Block. Demand 1 of Rs 190.27 crore covers the 4th year (filed Aug 2025); Demand 2 of Rs 241.09 crore covers the 5th year (filed Oct 2025). Both petitions were tagged with similar cases and the court had restrained coercive action. Interim protection is now extended till December 12, 2025.
Positive as no coercive action till Dec 12. Combined demand of about Rs 431 crore from Sukinda Block stays disputed. Next hearing on Dec 12 is key.
