Tata Steel reported standalone net profit of ₹16,065 crore for FY2025-26, up 15% from ₹13,970 crore in FY2024-25. Total standalone revenue grew 5.4% to ₹1,39,720 crore. The Board recommended a dividend of ₹4 per share (400%) subject to shareholder approval at the July 2, 2026 AGM. The auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated results. However, a material going concern uncertainty was disclosed for Tata Steel Netherlands subsidiary due to environmental regulatory actions including €20 million+ in penalties and intent to revoke operating permits at its IJmuiden coke and gas plants (40-50 years old). The company also approved acquisition of an additional 23% stake in TM International Logistics Limited for ₹335 crore from IQ, taking its holding to 74%. Consolidated results include 13 subsidiaries showing combined net loss of ₹6,434 crore.
The 15% PAT growth and dividend are positive for shareholders. However, the going concern uncertainty at Tata Steel Netherlands and its potential plant closure creates operational and financial risk that could impact the consolidated group. The clean auditor opinion on Tata Steel Limited standalone provides assurance.
