The Grob Tea Company reported unaudited Q1 FY26 results (quarter ended 30 June 2025) with revenue from operations at Rs. 1,785.20 lakhs versus Rs. 1,614.10 lakhs in Q1 FY25, a growth of about 10.6%. The company swung to a profit of Rs. 135.39 lakhs (EPS Rs. 11.65) compared to a loss of Rs. 1,914.64 lakhs in the same quarter last year. The Board also approved discontinuing the LED Lights trading business effective 1 April 2025, since the company is primarily focused on tea cultivation, manufacturing and sale, and LED trading was considered insignificant. The Cost Audit Report for FY25 by M/s D Sabyasachi & Co was approved, and Inter Corporate Deposits and other loans for FY26 were sanctioned. The statutory auditor (GARV & Associates) issued a qualified conclusion, flagging that income tax (current and deferred) was not provided as required by Ind AS 12, and that actuarial gain/loss on employee benefits was estimated rather than computed per Ind AS 19.
Q1 shows a strong turnaround from last year's loss, but the tea business is seasonal, so quarterly numbers may not reflect full-year performance. The auditor's qualified opinion on tax provisioning and employee benefit estimates is a watchpoint, though the company states no material impact from the LED segment exit.
