Ramco Cements reported weak Q1 FY27 results. Standalone total income fell 13% YoY to Rs 2,276 cr from Rs 2,618 cr. Standalone net profit dropped sharply to Rs 31.86 cr vs Rs 146.39 cr (down 78%). Operating margin compressed to 14% from 19%, net profit margin to 1% from 6%. EPS fell to Rs 1.35 from Rs 6.19. Exceptional items of Rs 12.62 cr (gain on surplus land sale, partly offset by social security code impact). Debt-equity improved to 0.49 from 0.62. Auditors gave an unmodified opinion. CCI cartelisation penalty of Rs 258.63 cr remains a contingent liability pending Supreme Court.
Sharp profit decline and margin compression signal weak pricing or cost pressure. Negative near-term sentiment likely, though balance sheet remains healthy.
