Thermax won a major legal battle as the Bombay High Court set aside a June 2023 arbitral award that had directed the company to pay about Rs 250 crores to a customer over two gas turbo generators. The court ordered the customer to refund the company's deposit of Rs 218.45 crores with 6% annual interest. However, the customer got a 4-week stay to appeal, so the matter is not fully closed.
Removes a potential Rs 250 cr liability; Thermax to get back Rs 218.45 cr deposit plus interest. Customer may appeal in four weeks.
