Tokyo Plast International reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of ₹1,820.73 lakhs, up about 2.3% from ₹1,779.84 lakhs in Q1 FY25. However, profit after tax dropped sharply to ₹10.14 lakhs from ₹38.26 lakhs, a decline of nearly 73% year-on-year. The profit squeeze was driven by a steep rise in cost of materials consumed (₹1,032.76 lakhs vs ₹641.13 lakhs, up 61%) and higher finance costs (₹65.03 lakhs vs ₹32.95 lakhs). Standalone EPS fell to ₹0.11 from ₹0.40, while consolidated PAT was ₹8.30 lakhs versus ₹38.26 lakhs. Auditor U B G & Company issued an unqualified (clean) limited review report on both standalone and consolidated results, with no qualifications, emphasis of matter, or going concern issues flagged.
Despite top-line growth, the sharp ~73% drop in profit signals severe margin pressure from raw material costs and higher interest expenses, which is a negative read for shareholders and could weigh on short-term stock sentiment.
