Torrent Power's board approved audited standalone and consolidated results for Q4 and FY25. Standalone revenue from operations rose to ₹21,912.55 Crore (FY24: ₹19,956.96 Crore, ~9.8% growth), while profit after tax jumped to ₹2,851.01 Crore (FY24: ₹1,798.03 Crore, ~58.6% growth), translating to EPS of ₹58.41 vs ₹37.41. Q4 standalone PAT surged to ₹1,089.80 Crore (Q4 FY24: ₹443.52 Crore). The board recommended a final dividend of ₹5 per share, taking total FY25 dividend to ₹19 per share (including ₹14 interim). It also approved raising up to ₹3,000 Crore via non-convertible debentures on private placement, and re-appointed Usha Sangwan as Independent Director for a second 5-year term. The renewable power undertaking (316.60 MW) was transferred to wholly-owned subsidiary Torrent Green Energy via a NCLT-approved slump sale effective April 1, 2024 for ₹880.12 Crore.
Strong earnings beat, driven partly by a one-time ₹637 Crore deferred tax reversal (lower tax rate) and ₹427 Crore tax refund, supports a healthy dividend payout and a much-improved debt-equity ratio (0.39 vs 0.75). The NCD raise of up to ₹3,000 Crore signals continued capex/funding plans, while the clean auditor opinion and demerger of renewables into a separate subsidiary should be viewed as neutral-to-positive for shareholders.
