Unichem Laboratories reported audited results for FY25 along with unaudited Q4FY25 numbers. Consolidated revenue from operations rose to Rs. 2,110.97 cr from Rs. 1,785.11 cr in FY24 (~18% growth), while standalone revenue grew ~20% to Rs. 1,735.70 cr. The company swung from a consolidated loss after tax of Rs. 93.76 cr in FY24 to a profit of Rs. 137.52 cr in FY25, and standalone PAT turned from a loss of Rs. 92.18 cr to a profit of Rs. 162.96 cr. The FY24 loss was weighed down by an exceptional provision of Rs. 125.62 cr toward a European Commission competition fine (upheld by EU Court of Justice in June 2024). Comparatives have been restated to include the Bayshore Pharmaceuticals USA business acquired from parent Ipca Laboratories (common control transaction). Statutory auditor N. A. Shah Associates issued an unmodified opinion on both sets of results. Board also approved re-appointment of Cost and Internal Auditors and appointed a new Secretarial Auditor for five years.
Sharp swing back to profitability after last year's EU-fine-hit loss, supported by healthy top-line growth, is a positive signal for shareholders. However, consolidated operating cash flow turned negative at Rs. 16.42 cr (vs positive Rs. 14 cr last year), and there are notable related-party dealings with parent Ipca Laboratories (Bayshore acquisition and Ireland subsidiary transfer) that investors should monitor.
