Barbeque-Nation Hospitality Limited reported its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) results with consolidated revenue from operations of Rs. 2,969.81 million, down about 2.8% from Rs. 3,056.89 million in Q1 FY25. Standalone revenue fell sharper to Rs. 2,289.36 million from Rs. 2,466.06 million, a decline of roughly 7.2%. Consolidated EBITDA dropped to Rs. 479.73 million (vs Rs. 535.70 million) and the company slipped into a wider consolidated loss after tax of Rs. 166.75 million, compared with a loss of Rs. 43.44 million in the same quarter last year. Loss per share widened to Rs. 4.20 from Rs. 1.24. The board also approved changing the company's name to United Foodbrands Limited to reflect its expansion beyond the Barbeque Nation brand, re-appointed CEO Rahul Agrawal for five years, and appointed a new COO and secretarial auditor. The company recently completed acquiring a 51% stake in ice-cream brand 'Omm Nom Nomm' (Willow Gourmet), which became a subsidiary from June 30, 2025. Auditors S.R. Batliboi & Associates issued an unmodified limited review report on both standalone and consolidated numbers.
For shareholders, the worsening bottom line (loss nearly 4x year-on-year) and revenue softness signal continued pressure on profitability despite the company's diversification push into brands like Omm Nom Nomm. The rebranding to a food-brands umbrella and ongoing acquisitions could be viewed as long-term strategic positives, but near-term the stock may stay weighed down by weak Q1 earnings. Clean audit opinion is a small positive.
