Barbeque-Nation Hospitality reported weak Q1 FY26 results with consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 296.98 crore, down about 2.8% from Rs 305.69 crore in Q1 FY25. Standalone revenue fell sharper at roughly 7% to Rs 228.94 crore from Rs 246.61 crore. Consolidated EBITDA declined to Rs 47.97 crore from Rs 53.57 crore, indicating margin compression, while finance costs rose and depreciation increased. The company swung to a consolidated net loss of Rs 16.68 crore, more than triple the Rs 4.34 crore loss in the year-ago quarter, and standalone net loss widened to Rs 16.96 crore from Rs 6.38 crore. The board also approved a name change to United Foodbrands Limited, re-appointed CEO Rahul Agrawal for five years, appointed a new COO, and completed the acquisition of ice-cream brand Omm Nom Nomm (Willow Gourmet), now a wholly owned subsidiary.
Shareholders should note widening losses, revenue softness and rising finance and depreciation costs in the quarter, which are negative for near-term stock sentiment. However, the rebranding to United Foodbrands and the Omm Nom Nomm acquisition signal a strategic pivot toward a multi-brand food platform that could support long-term growth if executed well.
