Universal Cables reported strong FY2026 results with standalone revenue growing 25.5% to Rs. 3023 crore (FY25: Rs. 2408 crore) and standalone PAT jumping 68.5% to Rs. 96.5 crore (FY25: Rs. 57.3 crore). Consolidated PAT surged 82.5% to Rs. 163.1 crore, boosted by associate/joint venture contributions of Rs. 82.3 crore. The Board recommended dividend of Rs. 4.50 per share (45%). Capital expansion continues with Rs. 73 crore EHV cable facility modernization at Satna (adding to Rs. 550 crore organic expansion already underway). Non-Executive Director Shri Bachh Raj Nahar will retire on June 13, 2026 due to age limit compliance (Regulation 17(1A)). New Company Secretary appointed. The company also approved raising up to Rs. 200 crore via NCDs. Auditor BGJC & Associates gave unqualified opinion but included an Emphasis of Matter regarding three wholly-owned subsidiaries of associate Vindhya Telelinks where ex-directors allegedly have unauthorized possession of books.
Strong financial performance with revenue and PAT growth exceeding 20% and 25% thresholds respectively. However, significant debt increase (total borrowings up ~39% YoY to Rs. 1176 crore) and declining operating cash flow (Rs. 63.5 crore vs Rs. 175.6 crore prior year) due to working capital build-up from rapid growth warrant monitoring. Auditor's Emphasis of Matter on associate subsidiary governance issue is a concern.
