The European Commission has imposed a definitive Countervailing Duty (CVD) of 5.40% on imports of single mode optical fibre cables originating in India, effective 12 June 2025. Separately, the existing anti-dumping duty on the Company's optical fibre cable exports has been reduced from 6.90% to 2.90% following the Company's representation to the EU. As a result, the combined duty on the Company's exports to the EU will be 8.30%, compared to 6.90% earlier. The Company received the communication from the European Commission on 11 June 2025. The financial impact of these duties cannot be quantified at this stage. No violation has been alleged against the Company.
The net combined duty has risen from 6.90% to 8.30%, which could modestly pressure margins on optical fibre cable exports to the EU. However, the reduction in the anti-dumping duty from 6.90% to 2.90% reflects partial success in the Company's submissions. Shareholders should monitor the Company's forthcoming disclosures for any quantified financial impact and any potential price/volume effect on EU-bound optical fibre cable orders.
