Valecha Engineering announced audited standalone and consolidated financial results for Q4 and FY ended March 31, 2025, showing a profit after tax of Rs. 437.37 Crores versus a loss of Rs. (1.50) Crores in FY24. This profit is almost entirely driven by one-time exceptional items of Rs. 433.62 Crores, which include write-back of liabilities of Rs. 640.55 Crores and write-off of irrecoverable receivables/advances of Rs. 185.64 Crores, both linked to the NCLT-approved resolution plan after exiting CIRP in June 2024. Core business revenue from operations actually fell sharply to Rs. 29.65 Crores in FY25 from Rs. 57.01 Crores in FY24, a drop of about 48%. The board reappointed M/s Jain Jagavat Kamdar & Co as statutory auditors and appointed new internal and secretarial auditors for FY 2025-26. The 48th AGM is scheduled for November 17, 2025.
The headline swing to profit looks dramatic but is a one-time accounting event from the resolution plan implementation, not a reflection of operating performance. Underlying business has shrunk significantly, though the balance sheet has been cleaned up with borrowings reduced from Rs. 467.53 Cr to just Rs. 0.01 Cr. Shareholders should treat the PAT as non-recurring; sustainable earnings remain weak.
