Vardhman Special Steels reported Q1 FY26 results with revenue from operations of Rs. 433.70 crore, up about 4.6% from Rs. 414.78 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income rose to Rs. 441.20 crore from Rs. 420.45 crore. However, net profit fell sharply to Rs. 19.90 crore from Rs. 26.08 crore, a decline of roughly 24% year-on-year, as operating profitability came under pressure from higher power and fuel costs and changes in inventory valuations. Basic EPS dropped to Rs. 2.43 from Rs. 3.20. Other income included Rs. 6.71 crore of government incentives under the Punjab Industrial Policy. Statutory auditors B S R & Co. LLP issued an unmodified (clean) limited review report. Separately, the company received Rs. 384.91 crore from Japan's Aichi Steel Corporation through a preferential share allotment on July 4, 2025, raising ASC's stake from 11.33% to 24.90%.
Mixed quarter — top-line growth was modest while bottom-line shrank nearly a quarter, which may pressure the stock in the near term. The large equity infusion from Aichi Steel significantly strengthens the balance sheet and signals long-term strategic backing from a global partner.
