Vedanta Power Q1 FY27 revenue rose 31% YoY to Rs 2,607 Cr, but swung to a loss after tax of Rs 423 Cr versus a profit of Rs 88 Cr last year. Loss includes exceptional charge of Rs 487 Cr covering Rs 127 Cr Supreme Court penalty on capacity mis-declaration. EBITDA fell to Rs 291 Cr from Rs 417 Cr. Operating margin compressed sharply to 2.5% from 12.5%. Debt-equity at 0.68, DSCR weak at 0.80. Auditor issued unmodified opinion. First results post demerger listing on June 15, 2026.
Weak margins, large exceptional loss, and low DSCR likely to weigh on stock despite revenue growth.
