On the reaction day the stock moved 0.7 pts less than Nifty 100 and 0.7 pts less than its Metals & Mining peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

GLAS Agency (Hong Kong), security trustee for US$ 1.75 billion bonds issued by Vedanta Resources Finance II Plc, disclosed encumbrance over 2,139,794,759 Vedanta shares (54.72%) held by promoter entities Twin Star, Welter and VHM II. Bonds were issued on 25 June 2026. No actual pledge created yet, but bond covenants on share disposal may qualify as encumbrance under takeover rules. VRL must retain at least 50.1% of Vedanta.
Promoter bond covenants create a contingent encumbrance on over half of Vedanta's shares, signalling leverage and refinancing risk for shareholders.
