Citicorp International, acting as trustee for bondholders, has fully released encumbrances over 1,537,973,924 Vedanta shares (39.33% of equity capital) held by promoter group entities Twin Star Holdings and Welter Trading. This follows complete repayment of US$1.6 billion worth of bonds issued by Vedanta Resources Finance II plc. The release took effect 17 July 2026. Other encumbrances under different outstanding bonds remain unaffected.
Positive: 39.33% of promoter shares freed from pledge, reducing risk of forced sale. Reflects debt reduction at promoter level.
