Vindhya Telelinks has informed exchanges that the European Commission has imposed a definitive Countervailing Duty (CVD) of 5.40% on its exports of single mode optical fibre cables to the EU, effective 12 June 2025. Separately, the existing anti-dumping duty on the company's exports has been reduced from 6.90% to 2.90% following the company's representations, taking the combined duty burden to 8.30% of the CIF Union border price. The communication was received on 11 June 2025. The company has stated that no violation has been alleged against it specifically and the financial impact is currently unascertainable.
Shareholders should note an additional duty cost on EU-bound optical fibre cable shipments, partially offset by the company's success in getting the anti-dumping rate reduced. Until the company quantifies the revenue exposure, the stock is unlikely to see a clear directional move, but margins on EU exports may be pressured.
