Vippy Spinpro Ltd reported its Q2 and H1 FY26 results, with half-yearly profit before tax rising to Rs. 949.06 lakhs from Rs. 707.02 lakhs a year ago, a growth of about 34%. Half-yearly profit after tax grew to Rs. 683.22 lakhs from Rs. 519.16 lakhs, up roughly 32% year-on-year. However, standalone Q2 PBT dipped to Rs. 390.39 lakhs from Rs. 454.82 lakhs, indicating softer sequential performance. The company is in the middle of a Rs. 5,902.90 lakh expansion at its Dewas unit, funded by term loans and internal accruals, with capex of Rs. 646.92 lakhs incurred in H1. Total borrowings rose to Rs. 4,081 lakhs from Rs. 3,301 lakhs as of March 2025, while equity strengthened to Rs. 9,424 lakhs. Operating cash flow for H1 was very weak at Rs. 124 lakhs, sharply lower than the FY25 full-year figure, mainly due to a buildup in other financial assets.
Strong half-yearly earnings growth and ongoing capacity expansion are positives for shareholders, but the weak Q2 print and sharply lower operating cash flow may temper near-term sentiment. Higher borrowings to fund the expansion warrant monitoring, though the debt-to-equity ratio remains comfortable.
