On the reaction day the stock moved 2.3 pts less than Nifty Midcap 150 and 1.8 pts less than its Telecom - Cellular & Fixed line services peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Bombay High Court on 8 June 2026 quashed DoT demand notices for One Time Spectrum Charges of Rs 2,113 crores against Vodafone Idea (erstwhile Idea Cellular and merged Spice Communications). The court also ordered return of bank guarantees given to DoT. The DoT had raised these demands in 2013 for spectrum beyond 6.2 MHz for the period July 2008 to December 2012. Vodafone Idea had argued DoT had no power to levy such charges retrospectively.
Big positive as Rs 2,113 crore potential liability is removed and bank guarantees will be returned, strengthening cash position.
