The Department of Telecommunications has finalized Vodafone Idea's Adjusted Gross Revenue dues at Rs. 64,046 crore as of December 31, 2025, down from the previously frozen amount of Rs. 87,695 crore. The company will pay a minimum of Rs. 100 crore annually over four years from FY 2031-32 to FY 2034-35, followed by six equal annual installments from FY 2035-36 to FY 2040-41. This follows Supreme Court orders permitting the government to consider Vodafone Idea's grievances on AGR issues, and the DoT's formation of a committee to reassess the dues. The extended payment schedule provides significant relief to the cash-strapped telecom operator.
The reduction in AGR dues and the long repayment timeline from FY 2031-32 onward removes a major overhang for Vodafone Idea, reducing financial stress and providing clarity on future obligations. This positive development should be supportive for the stock price as it eliminates uncertainty around a large liability.
