Walchandnagar Industries reported a turnaround in FY26 with revenue growing 6.2% to Rs 27,519 lakhs from Rs 25,918 lakhs. The company significantly narrowed its losses from Rs 8,603 lakhs in FY25 to Rs 1,468 lakhs in FY26, largely driven by Heavy Engineering segment contributing Rs 2,584 lakhs profit. Q4 standalone profit was Rs 294 lakhs versus a loss of Rs 5,612 lakhs in Q4 FY25. However, operating cash flow remained negative at Rs 1,108 lakhs for the year. Cash reserves fell from Rs 5,496 lakhs to Rs 2,009 lakhs. The company recognized Rs 412 lakhs as exceptional items related to new labour code implementation and settled a dispute with Aicitta Intelligent Technology for Rs 68 lakhs. The auditor gave an unqualified opinion with no going concern issues raised.
While the company has substantially reduced its losses and improved operations, it remains loss-making with negative operating cash flows, which raises concerns about sustainability. The significant depletion of cash reserves needs monitoring.
