On the reaction day the stock moved 2.6 pts less than Nifty Smallcap 250 and 1.9 pts less than its Iron & Steel Products peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Consolidated Q2 revenue rose 6.2% to Rs 4,643.72 crore and net profit rose 11.6% to Rs 495.09 crore. A Rs 547.93 crore gain on the EPIC share sale was the main profit driver; excluding it, pre-tax profit was only about Rs 108 crore. Half-year operating margin before depreciation, interest and tax improved to 18.42% from 16.13%. Standalone half-year revenue fell 6.1% and net profit dropped to Rs 257.67 crore from Rs 620.58 crore.
Operating trend is positive, but Q2 profit relied on a one-time gain. US and Jordan expansion may aid growth, with added spending and execution risk.
