Welspun Corp Limited filed its Q1 FY26 results on July 29, 2025. On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations rose to Rs. 3,551.49 crores from Rs. 3,137.23 crores in Q1 FY25, a growth of about 13%. Net profit jumped to Rs. 349.16 crores from Rs. 247.94 crores, roughly 41% higher year-on-year, partly aided by an exceptional gain of Rs. 51.72 crores from the sale of a 10% stake in Nauyaan Shipyard Private Limited to a Reliance group entity. Operating EBITDA margin expanded sharply to 16.21% from 13.84% a year ago. Basic EPS for the quarter stood at Rs. 13.32. The company also reported the redemption of Rs. 50.90 crores of preference shares at its subsidiary WSSL and an additional 9.90% sale of NSPL post-quarter for Rs. 54.70 crores. The limited review by BSR & Co. LLP was clean (unmodified).
A strong quarter with healthy profit growth and clearly improving margins, supported further by a one-time exceptional gain and ongoing divestment proceeds from the Reliance-linked NSPL transaction. The balance sheet remains very healthy with a low debt-equity ratio of 0.13 and AA+ credit rating. Shareholders may view the results positively, though the exceptional item flatters the headline numbers and a change of statutory auditor is noted.
