Welspun Specialty Solutions reported FY25 revenue from operations of Rs 72,372 lakhs, up ~4% from Rs 69,657 lakhs in FY24. Q4 FY25 revenue grew ~32% year-on-year to Rs 20,015 lakhs. However, the company swung to a net loss of Rs 409 lakhs in FY25 versus a profit of Rs 6,247 lakhs in FY24 (the FY24 number was boosted by a one-time Rs 3,387 lakh deferred tax credit). On a normalised basis, FY25 still slipped into a loss versus a PBT of Rs 2,860 lakhs last year, driven by higher finance costs (Rs 4,397 vs Rs 3,325) and lower operating margins. The company raised Rs 34,986 lakhs via a rights issue in March 2025 and used Rs 28,790 lakhs to repay borrowings, sharply cutting debt. Total equity turned positive at Rs 43,437 lakhs from Rs 9,308 lakhs earlier. Statutory auditor BSR & Co. LLP issued an unmodified opinion.
Shareholders should note the swing to a net loss despite revenue growth, reflecting margin pressure and higher interest costs. The rights issue has strengthened the balance sheet significantly, with borrowings falling sharply and operating cash flow improving to Rs 5,777 lakhs (vs Rs 747 lakhs), which is a positive for future stability.
