Welspun Specialty Solutions reported its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) results, showing revenue from operations of Rs. 20,132 lakhs, up about 24% from Rs. 16,210 lakhs in the same quarter last year. However, the company slipped into a net loss of Rs. 75 lakhs compared to a profit of Rs. 195 lakhs a year ago, as total expenses grew faster (about 28%) than revenue. Finance costs rose slightly to Rs. 1,080 lakhs, partly hit by a Rs. 578 lakh one-time charge related to early redemption of preference shares (NCRPS) using proceeds from the recent Rights Issue of Rs. 34,986 lakhs. Statutory auditor BSR & Co. LLP issued an unmodified (clean) limited review report, noting it was a different firm from the predecessor auditor that reviewed the year-ago quarter. EPS stood at Rs. (0.01) versus Rs. 0.04 in Q1 FY25.
Strong top-line growth is a positive, but rising costs and a shift into loss mean margins remain under pressure in the near term, which could weigh on the stock in the short run despite the higher revenue base.
