Whirlpool of India reported Q4 FY2025-26 consolidated revenue of INR 2,181 crores with high single-digit growth, though EBITDA declined 33.7% to INR 121 crores due to regulatory cost pressures. Full year revenue crossed INR 8,000 crores at INR 8,034 crores (1.4% growth). March 2026 became the highest-ever shipment month in company history. The company achieved #2 market position in refrigerators and washing machines combined in multi-brand outlets. Elica cooking business delivered strong results with 30% revenue growth and 48% profit growth in Q4. Key headwinds included energy regulation changes (BEE upgrade from January 2026), incremental e-waste provisions per government mandate, and supply chain concerns from Middle East tensions. Management highlighted the P4G (Productivity for Growth) program which delivered 220 basis points of gross margin improvement over three years. They announced plans to launch large capacity frost-free refrigerators in Q2 FY2026-27.
The quarter showed strong revenue recovery momentum (7.4% in Q4 vs negative growth in Q1-Q2), but profitability was significantly impacted by regulatory costs. Investors should monitor whether these regulatory costs (e-waste and energy upgrades) are fully absorbed in FY27 or recovered through pricing, as management indicated they are 'permanent upcharges to the BOM.'
