Yajur Fibres has informed BSE that the National Jute Board (NJB) has filed a civil suit against the company before the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta, seeking refund of subsidy allegedly wrongfully claimed. The matter is at a very early stage and is yet to be listed for hearing. This follows an earlier money suit by NJB that was dismissed as withdrawn on August 6, 2025, with liberty granted to file a fresh suit — against which the company had already filed an application. The principal claim amount is Rs. 1.02 crore, with interest claimed at Rs. 2.53 crore, taking total potential exposure to around Rs. 3.55 crore. The company says financial implications cannot be determined at this stage and the management is confident of a favourable outcome.
