Yes Bank has informed exchanges that CA Basque Investments, a Mauritius-based investor (not part of the promoter group), has sold 2.62% of its shareholding (82 crore equity shares) in the bank through an open market sale on June 3, 2025. Before the sale, CA Basque held 6.84% (214.4 crore shares); after the sale, its holding stands at 4.22% (132.4 crore shares). As a result of crossing below the agreed threshold, CA Basque has lost its right to nominate a director on the bank's board under the investment agreement dated July 29, 2022. The disclosure was made under Regulation 29(2) of SEBI's Takeover Regulations.
This is a sizeable open-market exit by a foreign institutional investor, which could create short-term supply pressure on the stock. However, CA Basque was not a promoter, so this does not affect the bank's promoter holding. The loss of board nomination rights is a governance-level change but not material to operations.
