Zenith Fibres reported Q3 FY26 revenue from operations of Rs. 969.86 lakhs, down about 31% from Rs. 1,410.08 lakhs in Q3 FY25, while nine-month revenue fell around 24% to Rs. 2,876.67 lakhs. Net profit for the quarter jumped to Rs. 261.33 lakhs (vs Rs. 111.43 lakhs) and for nine months rose to Rs. 293.37 lakhs (vs Rs. 234.06 lakhs), with EPS of Rs. 6.63 for the quarter and Rs. 7.44 for nine months. However, a large chunk of the profit boost came from a one-time, non-recurring liquidated damages income of Rs. 252.17 lakhs booked under 'Other Income' due to customer cancellation of sale contracts. The core Manmade Fibre segment continues to struggle, posting a segment loss of Rs. 209.20 lakhs in nine months, while only the small Renewable Energy segment remained profitable.
The headline profit growth looks strong but is largely inflated by a non-recurring windfall, not by better core business performance. Shareholders should note that the main Manmade Fibre business is still loss-making on a year-to-date basis and revenue is shrinking meaningfully, which raises concerns about underlying business health despite the flattering reported numbers.
