Zenotech Laboratories reported Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) standalone revenue from operations of Rs 863.91 lakhs, down from Rs 889.49 lakhs in Q1 FY25, a decline of about 3%. Total income was nearly flat at Rs 1,023.16 lakhs vs Rs 1,024.96 lakhs, helped by higher other income. Total expenses rose sharply to Rs 895.48 lakhs from Rs 820.41 lakhs, driven by higher employee costs and other expenses. Profit before tax fell to Rs 127.68 lakhs from Rs 204.55 lakhs, and profit after tax dropped to Rs 98.96 lakhs (EPS Rs 0.16) from Rs 128.97 lakhs (EPS Rs 0.21). The auditor (PKF Sridhar & Santhanam LLP) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications. The Board also approved the appointment of M/s. G S K A & Co. as the new statutory auditor for a 5-year term, replacing PKF which completed two consecutive terms. The 36th AGM is scheduled for September 26, 2025.
The quarter shows margin compression with rising costs eating into profitability despite stable topline, which is mildly negative for shareholders. The auditor change appears routine (end of permissible tenure) and not a red flag.
