On the reaction day the stock moved 2.8 pts more than Nifty 100 and 2.9 pts more than its Pharmaceuticals peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Zydus and its US subsidiary have entered a settlement agreement with Astellas Pharma to end patent litigation over the generic drug Mirabegron (brand Myrbetriq). Zydus will pay Astellas USD 120 million in aggregate, plus a prepaid per-unit licensing fee on US Mirabegron sales until September 2027. The settlement concludes all related litigations and allows Zydus to continue marketing its generic Mirabegron in the US.
Litigation overhang removed but USD 120M payout plus ongoing royalties may dent margins while Zydus retains the US generic market.
