Tega Industries, with Apollo Funds, completed the acquisition of Molycop, a global grinding media supplier for mining, at an enterprise value of about USD 1.5 billion from American Industrial Partners. Tega is the controlling shareholder; Apollo holds a significant minority stake. The deal adds 13 manufacturing facilities and joint ventures, bringing Tega's combined presence to 26 global sites. Molycop serves 400+ mines in 40 countries. Tega will focus on operational and business integration over the next 8 quarters.
Major acquisition expanding Tega's global mining consumables footprint. May boost long-term growth but involves integration risks and likely higher debt.
