Syngene will acquire 8.23% stake in O2 Renewable Energy V for Rs 35 million in cash from Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited. O2 RE V operates a 5.325 MW wind-solar hybrid plant in Karnataka with FY24-25 turnover of Rs 20.29 crore. Syngene and other captive investors will hold minimum 26% to maintain captive power status under the Electricity Act. The deal replaces an earlier plan with O2 RE II due to regulatory changes around solar power and longer wind setup timelines. Completion expected by March 31, 2026.
Minor acquisition for captive renewable energy use. Positive ESG signal but financially immaterial given small deal size relative to Syngene's overall scale.
