Acquisition of equity stake in T Steel Holdings Pte. Ltd
Awaiting price reaction for this filing.
Tata Steel Limited has acquired 179,10,44,776 equity shares (face value USD 0.1005 each) in its wholly-owned foreign subsidiary T Steel Holdings Pte. Ltd (TSHP), aggregating to USD 180 million (approximately ₹1,562.54 crore). This is part of the company's earlier announced plan (May 12, 2025) to infuse up to USD 2.5 billion into TSHP in one or more tranches during FY2025-26. Post this acquisition, TSHP continues to remain a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel. The USD-INR conversion rate used is ₹86.8080, as per RBI's rate on June 23, 2025.
This is a capital infusion into an existing wholly-owned subsidiary rather than a new acquisition, so it should not materially change Tata Steel's consolidated financials. Shareholders may view this as part of the company's overseas expansion or debt restructuring plans for its UK operations, but no immediate direct impact on share price is expected from this tranche alone.
