Adani Enterprises' wholly owned subsidiary, Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Limited (ADSTL), has completed the acquisition of an 85.1% stake in Air Works India (Engineering) Pvt. Ltd (AWIEPL) on 1st July 2025. The deal was done at an enterprise value of Rs. 400 crore in cash. Air Works, founded in 1951, is India's largest privately-owned aviation services and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) company with FY24 revenue of Rs. 356 crore. With this acquisition, AWIEPL becomes a step-down subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, expanding its presence in the aircraft MRO space.
This acquisition strengthens Adani Enterprises' footprint in the aerospace MRO sector, adding a revenue-generating asset of around Rs. 356 crore to its defence and aerospace portfolio. Shareholders should view this as a strategic expansion that diversifies the company's business verticals, though integration risks and capital deployment of Rs. 400 crore should be monitored.
