Adani Power has received a Letter of Award from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for supplying 1,500 MW of power for 25 years. The electricity will be generated from a new thermal power project with 2x800 MW (1,600 MW) installed capacity, to be set up in Uttar Pradesh. UPPCL is a state government-owned power distribution company, and the order was won through a competitive bidding process with tariff determined per bid terms. This is a revised disclosure following the company's earlier announcement on May 10, 2025. The promoter group has no interest in UPPCL and the contract is not a related-party transaction.
This is a large, long-term contract that locks in revenue visibility for 25 years and strengthens Adani Power's order book, which is positive for future earnings. The new project in Uttar Pradesh also signals continued capacity expansion, though execution and project costs will be key things to watch.
