Order Win Disclosure

An order win disclosure is a filing in which a company tells the exchanges it has won a significant contract or purchase order — typically naming the customer or sector, the scope of work and the value, or a value range.

Under SEBI's LODR Regulation 30, orders and contracts outside the normal course of business, or large enough to be material, must be disclosed. Capital-goods, construction, defence and IT services companies file them most often.

Some companies state a value band instead of an exact figure. On 20 August 2026, for example, Larsen & Toubro disclosed a "Large" order — a band its filing put at ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 crore — to build an automated people-mover system at Dubai's Al Maktoum Airport with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

To judge an order, compare its value with the company's annual revenue and existing order book, and check the execution period. An order worth a few percent of revenue spread over five years matters far less than one worth a quarter of revenue executed in eighteen months.

How stocks tend to react

For small and mid-sized companies, an order that is large relative to revenue can move the stock sharply on the day. For large companies with big order books, even sizeable orders are often already expected. MarketPing's Reaction Lab shows how order-win filings have moved stocks across horizons.

MarketPing measures this instead of guessing: every analysed announcement carries the stock's actual price reaction across 14 horizons, and the Reaction Lab aggregates how each category of announcement has historically moved stocks.
