Aegis Vopak Terminals has signed a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) with Sea Lord Containers Limited (SCL) to acquire an LPG terminal with a cryogenic static LPG storage capacity of 82,000 MT at New Mangalore Port. The deal is valued at ₹671.30 crore and is being done on a slump sale basis on a going-concern basis, effective June 19, 2025. The acquisition will be funded entirely through the proceeds of the company's recent IPO. This was one of the stated objectives of the IPO mentioned in its prospectus dated May 28, 2025. The terminal will add new strategic gas storage infrastructure at Mangalore Port to serve growing demand.
The acquisition expands Aegis Vopak's storage capacity by 82,000 MT, strengthening its position in the LPG and gas logistics space. For shareholders, this is a positive capacity addition funded by IPO money, though note that Sea Lord Containers is part of the Promoter Group, making this a related-party transaction (done at arms length). Investors should track utilization of the new terminal in coming quarters.
