Aerpace Industries has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to develop India's first Drone City in the Kurnool region. The company plans to set up a state-of-the-art drone manufacturing facility at Guttapadu, Kurnool District, covering defence drones, large-size logistics and transportation drones, MRO and testing facilities, and drone-based logistics, mobility, and surveillance solutions. The project supports aerpace's aerShield (defence) and aerWing (transportation) product ecosystems. APEDB will provide state-level coordination, help with approvals and infrastructure, and integrate aerpace into the larger Drone City master plan. The company has undergone multiple rounds of technical presentations and capability assessments with the State before finalising the partnership.
This is a marquee strategic partnership that strengthens Aerpace's positioning in India's UAV ecosystem and may boost investor sentiment, though the MoU is explicitly non-binding and execution risks remain. Shareholders should treat this as a long-term capability-building milestone rather than an immediate revenue trigger.
