Afcons achieved the first tunnel breakthrough in CIDCO's history at the Hetawane Water Supply Scheme in Wahal village, Package 1. Of the 8.7 km treated water tunnel, 5.52 km is already done. The company set a national tunnelling record of 777m in a single month. It now plans to complete the project 6 months ahead of schedule. The scheme will boost CIDCO water supply from 120 MLD to 270 MLD for Navi Mumbai.
Positive execution update; early completion may improve margins and boost credibility for future government bids.
